Entry 2 - Rui

[This photo displays the suspicion and innocence that Banquo's character had possessed in the play, Macbeth.]

Dearest journal,

Suspicions indeed have occurred in my absent mind. It does not want to think it, it does not want to comprehend the possibilities. The great chain of our society replay inside my mind and becomes a belief system for me. No one can question it, not even the king. My boy, Fleance had a grand time before the tragedy have occurred to poor Duncan. The sight was paralyzing for my boy and myself.

It is sad to see blood, the blood that we served under, the blood that all was loyal to, have diminished without a warning. I agnize the king's death. The Alderliefest in the whole country. It caused hurlyburly everywhere. Who is the knave of this crime? Could it just be a pageant? I roam with a clear head, filled with nasty conscience that tries to budge in. The prophecies fill me, fill me with desire and suspicion. Could I doubt the power of witchcraft? Is this all meant to happen?

"Knowing causes uncertainty. Knowing everything is knowing nothing."

The witches showed some truth to Macbeth, yet I am affeered. Dare I say, I worry about my son. Dare I ask, wherefore is this happening? Naught, naught, naught! Let my mammering vanish and turn it into mettle. In my deepest desire, I need prophecies to show me some truth about my boy being king. My hopes arise for Fleance and me.

I want path, in order to think. I need to be peculiar and not seem peevish. My dignities to the King and Macbeth will always stay true.

Prithee may my suspicions disappear and not be affectioned.1)

I remain,

Banquo

This song's name is "I Write Sins, Not Tragedies" by Panic! at the Disco. I picked this song for Banquo because, the title of the song and the storyline reflects Banquo in the play Macbeth. The witches enabled Macbeth to commit sins, therefore causing him the ultimate tragedy in the end. The song is basically saying how something so obvious can be so blinding for others. Or, the people that are closest to you can hurt you the most. After Duncan's death, Banquo did not suspect Macbeth at all even though the signs were ever so clear.

1)Runescape : This is an online game that became very popular with kids, teens and adults. It contains kingdoms, and different regions that one can explore. Players get to travel, and have the ability to use spells and devices to enhance their gaming experience. I thought this would be perfect for Banquo's little boy, Fleance. Fleance seems intelligent and witty, where games like Runescape create a fantasy world for players to explore and form alliances with other players. They are able to learn from their own mistatkes and gain strategies. Therefore, I thought this fun and entertaining game would be perfect for Fleance .

2)Tudors : This website is a television series that was based on the reign of King Henry VII(the seventh). I thought this would be something Banquo would enjoy watching in his spare time because, of his new found interest in becoming the ruler of Scotland, after hearing the prophecies made by the witches. Surprisingly, he stands aside and allows nature to take its course, unlike Macbeth trying to fufill his prophecies. Generally, Banquo seems to be the kind of person that has a fascination with loyalty, but does not like to get himself into troubling situations. So, instead of him getting involved, he can sit back, relax and enjoy the show.

About Me

I bore the name Banquo whilst I lived and when I was fellow soldier and friend to Macbeth. I was loyal to noble Duncan who Macbeth murdered, and I too was eventually disposed of. I am now a ghost caught between Life and Death. I dearly love my son Fleance and pray he is somewhere safe.

Loyalty
ACT 1, Scene 3
And oftentimes, to win us to our harm,
The instruments of darkness tell us truths,
Win us with honest trifles, to betray us
